I was hanging out in the Buy Me A Coffee discord channel and came across the best idea from a fellow creative. Her name is Jessica, and she’s the founder of the blog Tech Biz Gurl! She helps people like you and I to optimize our side hustles so that they can be just that: a side hustle! I was reading her latest blog on the 55 Things I Did, Experienced, and Appreciated in 2020, and decided I would take inspiration and do a similar post! Listen, 2020 was a shit show. I get it. It was the most chaotic year I’ve lived through to date, but a lot of good things happened too. Let’s talk about them.
- I started posting regular ASMR content on my youtube channel. ASMR has always been something I’ve indulged in for years now, but it was nice to sort of “give back” to the community and help others to relax/sleep.
- I finished a beautiful trip to South Beach Miami in January which as many of you know, is like a second home to me. I plan to one day buy a condo there. Setting the intention now!
- I reminded the girls not to fuck with my Toon Link in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
- I started my blog and saw many successes! With less than 12 months, I’ve already begun to see some organic searches for my blog which is a testament to the SEO optimization I’ve been trying to achieve!
- I decided to really take my skincare seriously for the first time in my life. It’s been quite the journey, and I’m so happy to be sharing my experiences with others. It feels great knowing that I’ve already helped so many other people to feel better and look better!
- The Love Collective Podcast had a bevy of heavy hitting guests on our show this year. To name a few, we had Supal Desai on to discuss her Indian heritage and how it’s effected her dating habits. We also had my homie Kisos stop in to talk about the juicy fact that he used to live with his boyfriend and ex-boyfriend at the same time! Yeah, my podcast is kind of dramatic!
- I started playing Dead By Daylight with my moderators and community members. It’s such a fun game to play with friends and will scare the heck out of you at the same time!
- I started a Buy Me A Coffee page with the goal of using it to optimize my content and keep me motivated to create! It’s been really fun sharing exclusive content over there that you can’t get anywhere else.
- I started taking 1-on-1 Courses with Supal Desai in regards to making my work flow more efficient for content creation. She’s definitely helped me to be in better touch with myself, my goals and my values in relations to my online business.
- I bought a shit ton of upgrades for my live twitch streams & youtube channel which deserves its own post entirely! New lighting, new mouse and a high quality tripod among other things. There’s nothing like investing back into yourself. I made sure to do that during a year where empathy was seemingly lost.
- Outside of being affiliated with Amazon, I was able to secure an affiliate deal with my first skincare company: Evenprime! As a micro-influencer, it’s hard to really come by companies that are willing to collaborate with you while also sharing in the same values and goals. I have that with Evenprime! Be sure to use CHO15 at check out for 15% off your entire purchase!
- Speaking of companies that should have offered me an affiliate deal by now, my all time favorite company, Paula’s Choice featured one of my tweets on their instagram page. Not only that, they put me on their PR list! Forget Covid-19. When I tell you I almost dropped dead on the spot. I’ve never been so star-struck in my entire life. Paula is THAT GIRL and always will be in my eyes!
- My mukbang videos on youtube was featured in a scientific publication at a university! Imagine!
- I bought my first piece of luggage from Away. I was able to use it on my first ever trip to Hilton Head with my bestfriend Justin which will become a regular vacation spot moving forward!
- We bought an old duplex and are documenting the remodeling on instagram! We got so much negative feedback about the green carpet that we decided to rip it all up! haha Stay tuned for more updates!
- I started reading Crystal Intentions: Practices for Manifesting Wellness by Lune Innate & Araminta Star Matthews. I’ve always been a big fan of crystals, but it wasn’t until I read this book by my favorite youtuber that it really clicked for me. It’s worth the read I promise!
- I saw my banana trees THRIVE in 2020!
- We installed the best shower/tub room you’ve seen in 2020.
- I finally let go of my townhouse and legally moved in with my partner of 5 years! That was quite the transition, but it all worked out for the best!
- I made several people rage quit Super Smash Brothers Ultimate throughout the entire year of 2020. There’s no nation better than Pac-Nation!
- I started using the meal kit service 360 Fitness Meals. Cooking food was becoming a strain on my personal free time. Eating out was becoming a strain on my financial freedom. 360 Fitness Meals became the middle ground that would improve my life for the better!
- I hired a private chef to cook for me. I never knew I could be this bougie on a budget!
- I taught everyone what it meant to be “pressed” or even worse, “panini pressed“.
- I helped my partner campaign for a local position that would change the way our neighborhood handles new development. Being active locally is one of the most important things you can do in terms of your civic duty.
- Started adding more beauty content to my youtube channel as of literally yesterday! It’s my goal to realign my youtube channel with my overall brand which is that of a Gaming & Lifestyle influencer!
- I came to realize that in terms of music genres, Future Funk is the blue print.
- This tweet in regards to #BlackLivesMatters
- I started playing and committing to live streaming the video game Spellbreak. Think Avatar the Last Airbender but make it a battle royale! It’s super competitive and really hard to get good at. I love a good challenge though, and it’s right up my alley! I’m especially digging the stoneshaper & conduit classes where I can control the earth and lightning!
- I dyed my hair blonde!
- Me surviving 2020 with my sanity and health in tact.
What things did you do this year that you’re proud of, and how are you moving into the new year?!
