Hey it’s Cho, and I’m back with some advice that could shave off a couple years of your life. Lip balms. Yes, we’re talking lip balms! Think for a second. How many times do you apply your lip balm every day? 5, 6 or 8 times? Does it feel weird when you drink through a straw or cup after applying your lip balm? Does any cracking occur after you stop using your product for a while? Maybe your lips tend to peel a lot after starting a new lip balm. If you answered yes to any of the questions above, then your lip balm freaking sucks!

If you follow me on instagram, which you totally should by now, you know I recently made a huge rant video about my experience with Burt’s Bees. I don’t mean to hit the hornets nest again, but my experience was pretty terrible. A lot of people had totally hyped me up for what I thought was going to be an amazing find. It was overwhelming being recommended such a wide variety of “flavors”, because Burt’s Bees has so many. However, I had such a terrible experience with one flavor that I decided NOT to even try the other recommendations. If those work for you, great. Keep using them. But they were definitely not for me, and in this blog post, I’m going to give you 2 recommendations that I think are worth your money instead!

The Sweetest Product On The Market

First up is my personal holy grail lip balm product, Fresh Beauty Sugar Advanced Therapy $26.00! You all have heard me rave about this product all over instagram, twitter as well as in person for those who know me in real life. I know, I know! The price tag is hefty. But I promise you I have not found a better lip balm. The price tag is literally the only negative thing I can say about this product. I use it twice a day: in the morning and at night. Depending on how sloppy of a cave troll I am during lunch and dinner, I might have to reapply. Even then, my lips tend to stay hydrated throughout the entire day. Even if I stop using it for a day, my lips seem to retain some hydration and moisture. It also leaves a dewy finish while giving you the appearance of some plumpness. I can’t recommend this product enough!!

Bonjour to Attractive Lips

The other product that I would recommend would be the Laneige Glowy Lip Balm $17. These are limited editions, so I’m not sure how long they’ll be on the market. I hear FANTASTIC reviews about their Lip Sleeping Mask $18.49. I decided to go with the former because it’s glowy and tinted, but I do plan on eventually trying the sleeping mask! Let me tell you, I was shook at the thought of wearing a tinted glowy lip balm. I’m a particular guy that doesn’t care for very dramatic looks when it comes to skin appearance. I love a natural look for myself. However, the tint was very natural for my skin type and the glow wasn’t too outrageous. While this wasn’t as hydrating as the Sugar Advanced Therapy, I did enjoy applying it much much more! The berry scent and look of the balm made application quite the sensual experience.

Neither of these recommended products are cheap. As you all remember, I love finding high quality products for a great value. And despite the price tags, I do think they are worth it. Yes, these lip balms ARE the Warby Parker of lip balms! Both brands have a variety of tints and flavors that are exciting to look at! I’ve never gotten the point of using lip scrubs other than for the indulgent self-care experience which is a totally legitimate excuse btw. I just can’t imagine using a product that causes your lips to peel which then forces you to purchase another product. Yikes! And while it may not seem like a big deal, having to reapply your lip balm every hour only means you’ll go through the product much quicker and have to repurchase. While you will spend a bit more money with these, you are guaranteed to have them for a while.

Considering how large the lip balm market is, I really want to hear about your product experiences. Have you tried one of these brands before? Any lip balm brands that you absolutely hate? I want to know it all over on Instagram! As a reminder, using my affiliate links above is a FREE way for you to support me monetarily, and I appreciate you for doing so! Chat soon!
